How Can You Help The Cause and Get Danny Phantom Back Into Production
So you signed the petition already and you feel there is so much more that you can do, right? Your right there are alot of things that you can do to help get this show back into production. I got some ideas from this website, you should check it because they have an informative video as well. To get Danny Phantom back on Nickelodeon then there is some information you need to know. Although Butch Hartman is the creator of Danny Phantom, he is not the person who decides whether or not Danny Phantom should air on TV. The people who decide when a TV show should get canceled or replaced are he people we are targeting. These people work for Nickelodeon or Viacom. Viacom is a huge company that owns many other company networks such as MTV and Nickelodeon. Fortunately in this case we don't really have to deal with Viacom (unless of course your related to someone there and it'd be cool if you mentioned Danny Phantom) our main target is Nickelodeon. Nickelodeon is a typical American company that obviously wishes to keep consumers happy if and only when they benefit financially. Meaning, Spongebob has been around for a long time because it manages to be one of the highest watched TV shows on Nickelodeon along with iCarly which has outstanding ratings. I guess unfortunately Danny Phantom didn't get high enough ratings despite its towering success as an overall amazing show (Includes many genres and appeals to many audiences). So since ratings were low Nickelodeon decided not to purchase another season of Danny Phantom. (Due to contracts and agreements, Danny Phantom is owned by Viacom and therefore can only be aired on its networks so it can only come back to Nickelodeon) Since Nickelodeon wasn't going to buy more episodes of Danny Phantom then production of the show ended. So those are the facts I hope I helped with the understanding of what happened, if not then you should visit Butch Hartman's Official website forum (you have to make an account to view the forum) and look around under "Danny Phantom".
So now that you have an idea of what happened here's what you can do. For starters ratings for the show have to go up. And yeah the ratings can still go up, want to know how? Nickelodeon has a Danny Phantom page under Nicktoons and Nicktoons occasionally airs episodes of Danny Phantom. Use the Nickelodeon's website and become a fan of Danny Phantom and use the site. Play the games (some are actually pretty fun) and write on their boards, create an account and enjoy their website of everything Danny Phantom related. They even have full episodes of Danny Phantom (only afew) so watch them, they're all hilarious. Really show Nickelodeon how you still love Danny Phantom. Watch the show's re-runs too, they air a couple times a week on Nicktoons (Directv 302; Dish 178; Verizon Fios 254; Cable varies). Show Nicktoons that this show is in demand and perhaps they'll send the word to Nickelodeon. Basically you have to use the website and watch the show on TV so that when Nickelodeon collects data, they know that Danny Phantom is being watched.
Another thing you can do is increase the Fans. When there are more people in love with the show then chances are that it's going to make money and Nickelodeon will realize it. Tell everyone about the show, show it to your friends, family or kids at school. You can even tell it as a story then intrigue other people to watch the show. Go around every where and make sure that Danny Phantom and Fenton becomes synonymous with Saving the Ghost We Love the Most. Buy the iTunes episodes and put them on your iPod so that you can show them to people anywhere you go.
Writing letters is age old way of getting things done. Fortunately they are actually proven more effective than just emails. Write letters to Nickelodeon and tell them why you want your favorite show back into production. Don't bad mouth or anything just tell them why you love the show and tell them that you want more episodes. And it wouldn't hurt to say that you've been a faithful Nickelodeon viewer for many years. So if you do write a letter to Nickelodeon then please hand written is far more appreciated than a print out. Here are some addresses you can write to. Although I recommend that you write to New York instead of California or just mail them the same thing. Oh and write on the envelope, "Attention: Programming" or "Attention Nickelodeon Programming" or something along those lines.
Nickelodeon 1515 Broadway New York, NY 10036 212-258-7500
Nickelodeon Animation Studios 231 West Olive Avenue Burbank, CA 91502 818-736-3000
And if you really want to make a stand then go to Comic Con in San Diego. And visit the panels there. Butch Hartman is typically always there. Ask him about Danny Phantom so that everyone there know that the show still isn't dead. Maybe he'll give you good news or advice or maybe he'll talk with Nickelodeon, who knows. Just try to do the best you can with what you got. Write letters make fans out of friends, family, peers and coworkers. Use Nick.com watch the show's re-runs on Nicktoons. Above all remember that this cannot be done alone, this cause needs many of you to get your favorite show back into production. It can be done and little by little you'll see, in a year or two you'll be flipping through the TV Guide and watch Season 4 of Danny Phantom on Nickelodeon. Although that currently the progress of this cause may not be that huge and may not even think it's that big but remember wasn't it Nickelodeon who once told you Not Seeing is Believing.
